MATACUY is a " compuesto", a traditional digestive made from fresh Peruvian botanicals. It’s natural, complex and balanced. No sugar added, it’s sweetness is purely botanical.
The herbs, spices and fruit are extracted, before and after distilling. We follow a precise process of measurements and times. Our botanicals are grown on our own ecological farm in the Sacred Valley of the Incas, halfway between Cuzco and Machu Picchu, or foraged in our mountains. The initial recipe was developed 35 years ago by Wendy Weeks at the Hotel El Albergue in Ollantaytambo, where Destileria Andina is still located.
